June 15, 2004, Ayer MA – Optometrics LLC is please to announce its capability for the design and production of custom Gold Gratings for IR (4 to 12 microns) Laser applications. 

Gold gratings are particularly important to IR Lasers since their increased efficiency allows more of the generated light to be used.  Their resistance to degradation allows them to be used in high power applications that might damage gratings having a thin Gold coating over Aluminum, for example.

The new gratings are being made available on both INVAR and Ceramic substrates – those interested in working with other materials should contact the company for more information.
